Today, there are several products on the market made for wrist support! Although they do a good job of adding mild compression, for further support taping will be required. This additional support is needed to prevent hyperextension of the wrist.
STEP 1: Wrap the wrist using underwrap STEP 2: Apply compression strips 3-4’’ above the wrist using moderate tension STEP 3: (Individually apply each strip) Apply strips down up to the wrist joint. An anchor strip is applied through the palm area, do this by pinching the tape at the thumb in order to avoid any uncomfortable pressure. STEP 4: Add another set of compression strips to cover the ends of the anchor. STEP 5: Measure distance between the tape at the arm and the palm STEP 6: Create two fans by cutting 3 pieces of tape and attach them together. STEP 7: Apply the fan to the wrist as the wrist is slightly flexed. Ensure the fan is in the middle of the wrist! STEP 8: Cover the fan with cover strips to add additional support.
