Hip flexors are a group of muscles that move the hip forward when running, walking, and kicking. Injuries to the hip flexor can vary from a stretching strain to a complete tear of the tissue.
STEP 1: Have the injured athlete elevate the heel of their injured leg about 2”. Using 6” double-length elastic wrap, start at the lateral side of the hip. STEP 2: Now bring the wrap around the leg, close to the crotch, and then pull the wrap behind the body to the other hip. STEP 3: Continue to wrap across the front of the body at the waist. The wrap should continue from the back of the leg and to the front. STEP 4: Continue step 3 until you run out of wrap, and secure with clips. STEP 5: Cover the clips with tape only using a light hand!
